Holistic Health in Altoona
Circle of Life Holistic Health Center, Inc. and The Chemipstry Store in Altoona, PA have joined forces to help out the local community!
Crystal Miller, owner of The Chempistry Store, and Lori Thompson, owner of Circle of Life, are uniting their decades of expertise in holistic health and wellness to serve and educate the greater Altoona community.
Lori started her business back in 2008 and has been able to grow it exponentially. Circle of Life Holistic Health Center provides the surrounding region with high-quality holistic health services, including massage therapy, physical therapy, detox and nutrition, and Reiki and energy work.
“We use integrated treatment and look at several different factors in your life,” says Lori. “It’s an approach to take injury and illness, your health and wellness goals, and approach them in a physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual way.”
The COVID-19 pandemic forced Lori to reevaluate her building space due to it being so big. She then had the idea of Crystal also utilizing the space, since both women are very passionate about holistic health and wellness and already refer clients to one another.
Crystal’s business focuses on CBD and different cannabinoids that can help with stress and pain relief. She also works with local producers of natural products and carries supplements for energetic therapies, like sage and essential oils.
The holistic health area is surrounded by many misconceptions, and both Lori and Crystal are dedicated to educating the greater community.
“One of the biggest misconceptions about massage therapy is that it’s for relaxation and for when you want to pamper yourself,” says Lori. “For massage therapy and Reiki, the benefits are huge in your wellness goals and your overall health. It can bring all of the stress-related symptoms down.”
Crystal is certified through the state and stresses the importance of knowing exactly what you’re getting in your CBD.
“Most people think that all CBD is the same. Unfortunately, there is still no regulation in the industry,” says Crystal. “Anybody and everybody can come up with a CBD brand. But CBD is not for everyone. It’s not a ‘one size fits all.’ Lab results absolutely matter. You don’t know what’s in the CBD unless it has labs. Find someone you can trust and who knows their product and what’s in their bottles.”
