In My Own Words - Stacy Gould
Here is our third installment of, "In My Own Words," featuring Bedford County's Stacy Gould, Main Street Manager of Downtown Bedford Inc.
We asked Stacy why she loved the Bedford County area and this is what she had to say...
"Bedford County is a wonderful place to live, work, stay, and play. It is comprised of quaint communities with scenic country roads, farmland, and endless opportunities for outdoor recreation. Aside from a wide variety of business and industry, the county offers 4 state parks, 14 covered bridges, and 7 school districts.
But, what I love most about this county, is downtown Bedford…
Bedford’s historical significance and preservation efforts are second to none. First settled in the 1700s, many of its original structures are not only still standing, but are thriving businesses today.
You won’t find any large department stores or chain restaurants here. What you will find is a one-of-a-kind experience. Our downtown features unique boutiques, artisan shops, antiques, specialty restaurants, bakeries, wineries, art galleries, nationally-recognized museums, historical landmarks, charming bed & breakfasts, hiking and biking trails and so much more.
We have a brewery, a whiskey bar, and will soon be adding a distillery, as well.
Small businesses are the heart of our community. Now more than ever they need our support.
Please shop local to ensure our downtown continues to grow and prosper.
I invite you to come see for yourself what makes it #betterinbedford!"
