Taking a Closer Look: HCCD and Stream Health
Spring has commenced and we are getting out in nature more and more as it warms up outside. As we walk the nature trails and look at the streams and rivers, we may see some of the creatures and living things that are in front of us, but what about those things that can’t be seen unless up close?
The Huntingdon County Conservation District, at the beginning of March, looked at some very interesting macro-organisms that were in a local stream. The most interesting part about finding these organisms is that when found and studied, the staff at the HCCD can see just how healthy the stream is! Keeping our rivers and streams healthy, one Macro at a time! Check out some of the findings.
