Watch and Learn: Local Watchmaker Takes His Time with Business Dream
What is one thing that you feel you never have enough of? If you were to ask your neighbor or friend, chances are they would answer with ‘time in the day.’ But a local watchmaker is changing the way we look at the time, literally. Owner and head design of Ardor & Forge, Zack Rackovan, is not a typical watchmaker and wants to change the way we choose and wear watches. No more excuses on why we are late for work! These watches will only make us fashionably late.
“It was a rough decade,” he comments with a laugh, “But, the good thing that happened from that was that I got a ton of experience working with different brands. I had the opportunity to work with RiteAid, Sheetz, Urban Outfitters...Penn State...Little Tykes. The list just goes on.” He continues saying that he experienced working within the graphic design departments of these companies. Even with the freelance side of work, he gained experience in sort of ‘running’ his own company. Despite the hardships he was faced with when it came to getting work, the amount of knowledge he gained was more than ever expected.
Starting his own brand, Arbor & Forge in 2017, Rankovan committed his work towards providing high-quality products for men who are adventurous and ready for anything. His extensive website is full of information about his brand, its mission and how his design became a reality that can be worn proudly on a wrist.
Many of the watches can be described as rugged, sleek and made for all types. Rankovan’s website has a blog containing many selections about the startup of his brand and the design concept for his first design, the Rothrock. With his passion for God, family, and innovation, Zack Rackovan is a force to be reckoned with in the design world. For us, we might feel like we don’t have enough time, but Zack has all the time in the world! Keep designing, Zack! We're excited to see what you come up with next!
